Filler: A blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos harvested in 2012
Back in 2012, our Master Blender, Claudio Sgroi, decided to take the idea of “vintage” from the wine world and apply it to cigars. Hence, Cosecha 2012 was born.
The Spanish word “Cosecha” means “Harvest” so it was the perfect name for this new line of vintage cigars. Cosecha 2012 is the first release in this line and features Nicaraguan tobaccos harvested in 2012. The tobacco was selected in 2012 and the cigars were rolled in 2013. Since then, they have been resting peacefully in the aging room at our factory, Casa Favilli.
Think of the Cosecha line as an ongoing limited release with Cosecha 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 currently resting in the aging room at Casa Favilli until ready for distribution. Each Cosecha release will be 6 x 52 with a pigtail cap. The 2012 crop yielded enough tobacco for 5,000 cigars, but that number will fluctuate depending on the crop yield of subsequent years.
